Pyramid Solitaire: what to know before playing

Choose a round of Pyramid Solitaire and settle into its rules. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Look at what changes after your first action. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

An idea for your next attempt

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Refer to the controls when needed.

The purpose of your moves

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

The steps to play

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

How to use the controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Look at the feedback after the action.

A closer look at one example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Verify the rule before continuing.

Where a round can go wrong

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
