Dominoes: instructions and practice

Try Dominoes at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Check the rule that explains your first action. Look at what changes after your first action.

Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.

A focus for your next round

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Notice the feedback after each input.

The objective of a round

Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Notice how the game responds to your input.

Making your moves

  1. Play a tile matching either open chain end.
  2. Choose which end to use.
  3. Draw only when no tile fits.
  4. Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.

The controls to know

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Check any mode label before starting.

A useful example

An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Notice the change in the playing area.

An important reminder

You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. Check the rule before repeating the action. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
