Bring this focus to a round

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Notice the feedback after each input.

Understand the aim

Land as many fish as possible in five casts. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

The steps to play

  1. Cast and wait for BITE.
  2. Hook promptly.
  3. Hold Reel for progress.
  4. Release to lower tension.
  5. Land the fish before it escapes.

Using the playing area

Cast and Hook; hold Reel or R; Space casts/hooks. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Read the example below alongside these instructions.

Follow the example

Alternating reeling and release avoids snapping the line. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Keep the controls nearby.

Watch out for this

Early hooks, missed bites and excessive tension lose a cast. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
